Which product does this voluntary recall concern?

The latest batch of Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro bases manufactured between September 6, 2025, and March 24, 2026. Other models or batches are not affected by this voluntary recall.

Why is a voluntary recall being issued?

During Maxi-Cosi's latest internal user testing, a potential misuse scenario was identified concerning the base's visual indicator, which confirms that the car seat is correctly attached to the base.

Because Maxi-Cosi's self-imposed standards exceed official regulatory requirements, and despite the low probability of this misuse scenario occurring, Maxi-Cosi wishes to issue a voluntary recall to maintain the highest possible standards for its products.

What is the potential misuse scenario?

The base's visual indicator may malfunction if the car seat or infant car seat is not removed from the base as intended. If this happens, the indicator may not function as expected during the next installation. This could mean that even if the visual indicator is showing green, the car seat or infant car seat may not be correctly attached to the base.

Have there been any incidents due to the potential misuse scenario?

How do I know if my base is part of the voluntary recall?

What should I do if my base is part of the voluntary recall?

You can obtain a replacement product directly from Maxi-Cosi, unless your base is still waiting for pick-up at a Lastentarvike myymälä - in this case we will handle the replacement process for you. We have informed all affected Lastentarvike-customers about the next steps, with instructions on how to handle the matter through Maxi-Cosi. If you have a base bought from Lastentarvike that's included in the voluntary recall and did not receive an email, check your email trash folder first, and then contact our customer service info@lastentarvike.fi.

The Maxi-Cosi replacement process requires the customer to apply for the replacement themselves through Maxi-Cosi's website here. Maxi-Cosi also handles the delivery of the replacement product. The exception is if your base is still waiting for pick-up at a Lastentarvike myymälä - in this case we will handle the replacement process for you, and let you know when your new replacement base has arrived at the store.

I have a base that is part of the recall. Can I continue using the base while waiting for a new one?

While waiting for your replacement base, it is possible to continue using the current base and compatible car seats safely as follows:

• Manually check both the front and rear attachment of the car seat to ensure it is properly secured to the base during each installation, rather than relying solely on the visual indicator. The front handle of the base can be released to reset the attachment if necessary – see visual instructions on Maxi-Cosi's website here.

• You can also install Coral Slide Pro or Pebble Slide Pro infant car seats in your car using the car's own seat belt.
