Everyday Baby brings new innovative baby and children's tableware to the range of Lastentarvike. Baby utensils are made from proven materials that are safe and healthy for the baby — free of harmful chemicals, phthalates or BPA, BPS, and BPF compounds. You will learn from this blog what these letter combinations mean and why they are recommended to be avoided. Cutlery from the Swedish company Everyday Baby is made from high-quality materials such as borosilicate glass and food-grade silicone, from which no harmful substances or microplastics are shed. In the Everyday Baby range, you will find suitable products for both small babies and children of playing age. All of the brand's dining products, such as glass pacifier bottles, spout mugs and straw bottles, silicone plates, mugs, bibs and cutlery, are designed to make life easier for parents and allow for more relaxed dining with a child from newborn to toddler.

“Studies have shown that boiling plastic bottles when sterilized releases microplastics,
This means that they always end up in the baby's milk when feeding with a plastic bottle.”

Safe glass pacifier bottle

Everyday Baby's glass baby bottles are the crown jewel of the range - they make everyday life easier, their materials are safe for the child, and they are equipped with features suitable for action-packed dining moments.

Glass pacifier bottles are made of durable borosilicate glass, the characteristics of which include special durability - this type of glass does not easily break.

However, if the glass pacifier bottle breaks, it will not shatter into crumbs all over the room. There is a thin silicone coating on the outside of the pacifier bottle, which also holds the broken pacifier bottle and its fragments together. In this case, a broken pacifier bottle will not scatter around the room and will not be dangerous with children who are carried away everywhere. And you can survive a broken bottle without major cleanup. This is how the Everyday Baby pacifier bottle differs from many other glass baby bottles, making it particularly safe for baby or toddler's action-packed dining.

Glass baby bottles are also available with a temperature indicator - the colour of the baby bottle changes to white if the milk is above 40°C, so you can easily see when the milk is too hot for the baby. After the milk has cooled to a temperature suitable for feeding the baby, the color of the bottle will return to normal. A pacifier bottle with a heat indicator makes eating with your baby once again easier and safer.

These glass pacifier bottles grow with the child from the parent's arms all the way to school with handy accessories. You turn the same pacifier bottle into a spout mug and a straw bottle - and you don't have to buy a new glass bottle, just a set of accessories.

It all started with a common idea of the fathers of three

Everyday Baby is a Swedish company founded by fathers of three with the aim of offering children's food products made from safer materials: dishes without chemicals, microplastics and other harmful substances. Founders Andreas, Edon and Fredrik believe that materials that come into contact with food in particular have an impact on health, especially in the case of young children.

Studies have shown that boiling plastic bottles when sterilized frees microplastics, whereby microplastics end up in the baby's milk whenever feeding with a plastic bottle.

As adults, we get to decide for ourselves what materials we use for dining, but children have no choice - parents decide for them. This is why the founders of Everyday Baby believe that what children are fed, and what they are fed, is even more important than how we eat as adults. They want to make eating for young children healthier and more ecologically sustainable for everyone.

Everyday Baby uses only carefully tested and safe materials. Only highly hygienic and durable materials, such as high-quality food-grade silicone and borosilicate glass, are in contact with food. Bottles also use high quality PBA-free PP plastic when necessary - however, plastic parts are only on the outside of the bottle where they are not in contact with milk.

Safe and high quality materials: BPA-free glass pacifier bottles and silicone pads

Everyday Baby products' materials, durability, and function are rigorously tested to ensure product quality. Product quality testing is carried out by an internationally trusted German TÜV Rheinland, as well as swedish RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden).

Everyday Baby's glass pacifier bottles are made of borosilicate glass, which is resistant to heat fluctuations and is more durable than regular glass. Borosilicate glass is a hygienic and easily washable material, since its surface is not porous - bacteria cannot grow. A glass bottle is a healthy alternative that does not release microplastics or harmful substances into baby's milk: The glass is BPA, BPS and BPF free, as well as phthalate-free material.

Everyday Baby's bottle holders and silicone baby containers are made of high quality 100% food grade silicone. Silicone is a durable, safe and hygienic material that does not accumulate bacteria because it does not absorb water inside. Everyday Baby's silicone dishes are also BPA, BPS and BPF-free and phthalate-free, so they do not emit harmful chemicals into the child's food. But why exactly these letter combinations should be avoided?

What are BPA, BPS and BPF?

BPA stands for Bisphenol A, which is often used e.g. in plastic beverage bottles, dishes and cutlery. BPA has been found to disrupt endocrine function and affect brain development. In the EU, the use of Bisphenol has been restricted - the use of BPA in pacifier bottles has been banned since 2011. In thermal papers, such as receipts, BPA was banned in 2020.

When the use of BPA began to be restricted, the use of less studied BPS (Bisphenol S) and BPF (Bisphenol F) compounds, the use of which has not yet been restricted, was used instead. New research has suggested that the health harms of these compounds may be similar to that of BPA.

Although the EU has restricted the use of BPA, Bisphenols are found in so many products that it is impossible to completely avoid them. For example, heating food in a microwave in a plastic container can release compounds from the plastic. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to whether the child's dishes and cutlery are BPA-free. Read Everyday Baby's blog about Bisphenols here.

What are phthalates?

Phthalates are used to soften a number of plastics and are present in many PVC plastic products, such as toys, plastic containers, and plastic wrappers.
Phthalates are suspected of disrupting the endocrine system and causing other health hazards, which has led to restrictions on the use of some phthalates in the EU.

How to avoid microplastics?

There are so many microplastics in our habitat today that they cannot be completely avoided. In 2022, scientists discovered microplastics for the first time
from the bloodstream of people. The study found PET plastic and polystyrene, which are used in plastic bottles and packaging materials, among other things.

Microplastic has been widely used in cosmetics, but it is also removed from many plastic products, e.g. when cooking - plastic is still used as a material in children's cutlery. We can reduce exposure to microplastics and their ingress into food by choosing children's dishes carefully. Glass and silicone are common alternatives to plastic.

A glass baby bottle that grows with your child is an ecological option

The durable design of the Everyday Baby pacifier bottle allows your child to use the same bottle from newborn to school. There are 3 different sizes of baby pacifiers in the baby bottle, with which you can feed the baby from the newborn until the end of bottle feeding. After that, the pacifier bottle is transformed with accessories into a spout mug or a straw bottle as the child grows. This way the same glass bottle stays in use for as long as possible - saving nature and resources.

All Everyday Baby glass bottles are compatible with all Accessory Sets with

Anti-colic pacifier bottle may ease baby's colic symptoms

Everyday Baby bottle caps have an anti-colic valve that prevents excess air from entering the baby's tummy - preventing flatulence, colic and reflux. The wide-brimmed bottle teat is shaped to resemble the natural shape of the breast to make it easier for the baby to switch between the bottle and breastfeeding. The material is flexible food-grade silicone, which is pleasantly soft for the baby's sensitive mouth and gums.

Everyday Baby bottle teats come in three different sizes: S, M and Velli. Sizes refer to the size of the hole in the tip of the bottle and how fast the milk flows as the baby eats. As your baby grows, the flow can be faster and the pacifier can always be changed to a larger size. The S size is just right for a newborn baby, while the largest size can also be used to feed a baby over 6 months old.

Everyday Baby bottle pacifier age recommendations:

S (0-3 months) Slow flow, suitable for breast milk or substitute

M (3-6 months) Medium flow, suitable for breast milk and substitute

Velli (6 months+) Fast flow, suitable for velli, breast milk and substitute

Glass Spout Mug or Whistle Bottle for Baby

When your baby starts eating solid foods at the age of 6 months, he may also start practicing drinking from a mug or bottle. For the Everyday Baby pacifier bottle, you can buy a convenient spout mug set or pill set that instantly turns the bottle into a spout mug or straw bottle for your baby. The drinking spout and straw are soft silicone for the baby's gums.

Both the spout mug and the straw bottle are spill-proof - the drink stays inside even if the mug or bottle is turned upside down. A glass straw bottle lasts a long time in the family and can always be used as the child grows up. The lightweight and spill-free straw bottle is convenient to pack with you for kindergarten, school backpack or family vacation.

If parts are lost or broken, you can always buy a new pill set, nose muff set or just a drinking bowl as a spare - this way you don't always have to buy a whole new product. The sets are suitable for both 150 ml and 240 ml bottles: the pill set has 3 straws of different lengths, from which you can choose the right one.

If your family no longer needs a baby bottle, we also have Everyday Baby's whole glass vials (240ml) and spout mugs (150ml).

Silicone saucer with suction cup for baby and toddler

With suction cups, a silicone saucer or bowl attached to the table is especially convenient for the start of solid foods, so that the baby has the opportunity to try different dishes with his own hands, while the dish remains tightly in place. Dishwasher-resistant silicone is easy to clean after eating. Everyday Baby's silicone products for baby food are BPA, BPS and BPF free, as well as phthalate free.

Here you will find Everyday Baby silicone plates, bowls, cups, straws, bibs, cutlery, as well as lovely baby chew toys. Watch the video tutorial to take a closer look at the wide range of Everyday Baby.
